Illustrator LUCY ROGERS
Lucy Rogers is a world-renowned deaf illustrator who has worked on over 15 books in the 5 years since she graduated from Falmouth University with a degree in illustration. Growing up in rural North Devon and attending a mainstream school, Lucy lacked opportunities to meet other deaf peers. At school, she discovered her love for books and the worlds they contained for her to explore. Later on, as she started thinking more about book illustrations, she realised they contained no deaf characters like her! She wanted to help put this right so, since graduating, she has worked hard to raise deaf awareness and promote positive deaf representation so that all deaf kids can find themselves in the books they read... because all children deserve to feel a connection to their books.
